Professor of Comparative Education in the Department of History of Education and Comparative Education at the Faculty of Education of the Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia (UNED), Madrid, Spain. She is member of the Directive Board of the Sociedad Española de Educación Comparada (SEEC), and previous Head Editor of the Revista Española de Educación Comparada (REEC). She has been member of the Governing Body (Claustro) of the UNED and belongs to the Comparative Education Society of Europe (CESE), and to the Research Group of Comparatística y Globalización. Her research focus lies on the impact of Globalization and Postmodernism on the epistemology and methodology of the discipline of comparative education, and on educational cultures worldwide. Her last academic work was published in the Special Issue Festschrift for Robert Cowen, in the Journal European Education, February 2026, titled Comparative Education, Theology and Postmodern Relativism: Overcoming the Serious Absence of Teleology in 21st Century European and North American Education.
